There has been much discussion on this and other boards with regard to the acceptance of coupons, specifically but not limited to Match Plays.
Several of the other sites have coupon trading categories, but these sites do not offer a coupon book or on line coupons etc.
Unfortunately, these sites care more about the number of hits they get to their site so they can sell advertising based on these numbers. In the advertising biz, exposure is everything. So, the more hits the more advertising dollars they command. So, they are basically bottom feeding on this and other publications, such as the Las Vegas Advisor, which had had a no trading policy, but was the focus of much abuse.
So, several of the casinos retaliated by not taking any coupons, period. Rather than sifting through the different formats, such as having the book, removing the coupon from the book in front of the pit boss, having a card issued by the publication and not the book, or no book such as on line ads or newspaper ads. It is confusing not only to the user but also to the staff at the casinos.
Some managers at the casinos requested to see the ACG book, and/or the card and an ID, in addition to a player's club card.
Short of installing software to track the coupon usage of each player's club member, and tracing their usage that way, it becomes more of a hassle that it's worth to generate new business to some of the casinos.
So, a few bad apples threaten the entire business and livelihood of some very hard working publishers. Why? Well, if the casinos won't take the ad, or if you don't know if they will, would you go out of your way to go there and use the coupon, especially a match play?
So, what can we do? I don't trade. I buy the book. If I see an abuser I'll post on their request post and bring it to their attention, but guess what, they are in most cases self centered jerks. I'm not saying all are, but some I've contacted were. Then I contact the administrator of that site and request they no longer continue this parasitic behavior at the expense of the publishers of this and other coupon books.
I suggest you do the same.
Thank You.
Ben Jammin
