Thinking about moving to Utah for work, but I’ve never even been there except for a ski trip once as a kid. What should someone totally new to the state know before making the move? Stuff like weather, the people, or just day-to-day life—I’d love to hear what surprised you most when you came out.

Moving to Utah: What You Need to Know

Moving anywhere new is always a bit of a shock, but I found Utah way friendlier than I expected. People are super into the outdoors, and there’s always something going on with hiking or festivals. The weather can go from super hot to freezing depending on where you are, so pack for everything. If you want a rundown on the different cities, neighborhoods, and even what life’s like in the smaller towns, Utah Homes has a bunch of local info that helped me settle in. I was surprised by how fast I got used to the slower pace—traffic is nothing compared to where I used to live.
