I thought I had posted the hike in the Gold Spike resort fee to almost $8 when tax is added in. That effectively doubles the $7.77 coupon deal there.
At the same time there were reports of the Four Queens adding $4 resort fee which from a conversation I had with the clerk today seems to be just rumor.
Perhaps the person confused resort fee with parking fee of $3 which can be simply avoided by not parking there.
I actually had booked the Gold Spike and so I asked if I was "grandfathered in" and the answer was very cryptic. If I had booked with Expedia yes, but with them directly or with other discounters, no. I wrote to ask for a waived fee based on prior booking, but received no answer so I am changing hotels.
