      Dewey,

Based on your advice/recommendation/s, I used the bus my last 2 trips (staying downtown). Between the buses and the free casino shuttles, it worked out great! Saved a lot of money (versus a rental car) and enjoyed not having the stress of driving. Of course, since it was so great, they had to change things.

In any case, I'll be looking forward to your analysis of best route/s between the airport and downtown (and back to the airport).

I suspect the best one will be the WAX, right? Looks like it might be as good or better than before????

I do less actual personal analysis than a collecting of information and annecdotes from folks riding the bus in Vegas and a saving and arranging of ideas of how to use the buses.
        I am not a local.
I am disturbed by many of these NOV. 7 changes, but I also remember how much changed back again within a month of the last huge overhaul of routes and schedules, so I am basically in a wait and see mode.
I will be in Vegas next week, but actually I arranged my stay this time to limit my time on buses until the dust settles and a routine is established.
I guess the thing I like least about Vegas is as soon as I think I have something fixed, it goes away and I have to start from square one again, looking at options, planning. Vegas just changes too fast for me.
Well, sorry to be negative here. I still think that the buses will provide the most frugal transportation with less risk of ruin with an entertaining interaction with other riders thrown in. I guess it just will take a bit of time now to see what develops and how it feels.
        Here are my current worries:

*** Staying downtown I may have to take a bus to take a bus because the BTC is an unsafe walk. I'll lose the flexibility of many routes easily reached.
*** The pullback on the SDX bus trips will mean I am crowded again on the Deuce when I am heading back to my hotel, perhaps a bit drunk, certainly tired, in the early morning hours.
*** The reduction of runs by the 202 Flamingo in early morning hours will mean I stop counting Terribles and Tuscany as possible places to stay, let alone the Eastside Cannery where early morning buses will no longer go.
Even early morning returns from Gold Coast/Palms to Ellis/Super 8 Koval will be much less convenient.
Tropicana 201 maintains 20 minute runs. I am sorry Flamingo did not get the same consideration.

I am happy that something I collected helped you have an easier time in Vegas.

Yea, as you say, it seems whenever things in Las Vegas (like the buses, bus routes, bus schedules, etc) are working well (for us, at least), they get changed .... perhaps that's inevitable but it's still a pain.

I really appreciate your fact gathering and reporting (here, on LVA, your blog, etc). It is a great resource for many of us. Keep up the good work!

Meanwhile, I hope the buses get stablized before my next trip (Jan 13-1. My wife will be with me this trip and I think she will enjoy the sights from the bus (when she isn't worried about my driving).

          Thanks!
