The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) is proposing a service
change to become effective Sunday, September 11, 2011 with major changes and
redesigns to routes: 106, 107, 111, 119, 203, 206, 209, 213, 214, 402, reduced funding
for Laughlin and Mesquite services, and the elimination of route 408 to maintain the
efficiency of the transit system throughout Southern Nevada. Every bus route in the system
is under evaluation and the ADA Paratransit Service Area will be adjusted to maintain the
mandated three-quarters of a mile border on each side of the fixed route boundary and
may be impacted by the following types of changes: frequency reduction, selected trip
deletion, changes to the hours of operation, shortening entire routes, eliminating routes
with low ridership, and route redesigns. Additionally, due to a low volume of sales the
three-day residential full and reduced fare will be eliminated.
