  • Latest Fitz Offer

I have not played much at the Fitzgerald's and not for a few trips. I don't remember ever getting any sort of offer, but I just booked two nights in November on a buy one get one price of $36 total. Offer included Freeplay of $15, a $15 matchplay, $10 food credit, and 2 free tickets to Fitz of Laughter, so you might say I got the value back in comps. I was already booked at the Gold Spoke for those nights at just a few dollars more (no comps) but I'm curious about the Fitz and will probably go there, even with the check in-check out hassle, especially if I manage 3 free ones right after at the Four Queens. So watch for a mailer if you are on their mailing list and booking in Oct/Nov downtown. I had planned to seed them for free rooms for my next trip anyway, so it just fits nicely into my plans.
The Vue bar 8/5 VP is generally pretty good value because it has three progressive lines in the pay table.

I was at The Fitz in May for my birthday. You used to get 500 points if you visited within 2 weeks of your birthday (and that info is in the 2011 ACG). I was told that they no longer did that and I got a 20 cent key chain instead. I've been there a few times and I've never received any mail from them.

That is useful information because I might have gone there and asked in October.

This was a complete surprise. Did it come because I recently added my email to their mailing? (added it again. I sign up for all mailings, everywhere)

My play was minimal and the offer is minimal, but my play last trip at Sam's Town was not minimal, and all I got from them was a scattered one day free, equal to this offer. My play at the Orleans was more than Fitz, and same there.
My play at El Cortez was not minimal and I got very little from them. My history of play there is not good because I play live poker and they don't care to follow that at all, so they just see me as dropping a twenty or so once in a while. Not last trip. I was seeding from room offers. I got zilch, and then they limited me when I tried to book 8 days in a row based on the new 7 days in a calendar month policy. They actually would not honor my booking.com reservation. This was before they just started charging everyone $25 a night for day 8 and after.
My VP playing friends with plenty of experience said to seed the Fitz instead of the EC and expect to get future offers, and I do like playing that Vue Bar VP.
So we'll see how it goes.

The American Casino Guide had a great 2 for 1 coupon for a free appetizer. I used to order the great potato chips and that was a meal. However, they are not serving food at the Vue Bar anymore, and the coupon is invalid now. Too bad. But not a deal breaker. I don't know if the potato chips are still made at the grill or not.

I like having wifi right downstairs when I go for a doughnut breakfast at Krispy Kreme.

The downside reported on the Fitz is that the beds are pretty basic. Some too soft. Some too hard. Lots of complaints. So I'll ask at check in, try the bed and ask for a transfer, and if the first night is uncomfortable, I have two double beds so I can double up the mattresses.

I like Mr Island found out about the 14 day birthday window and free points now being a keychain and the ACG coupon for a shotglass is also now a keychain. All I got for signing up was $5 of free play.
