  • Route 66- Laughlin, NV. to Seligman, AZ.- Dewey and others

A few months back I had mentioned that my wife and I were planning on driving part of Route 66 through Arizona during our Vegas/Out West Anniversary trip. Dewey I recall you saying not to miss Mr. D's Diner in Kingman so we have added that to our itenerary. We also want to see The Snow Cap Diner in Seligman. A few questions/help from any of you who have traveled the old mother road. Keep in mind we are traveling from Laughlin, NV. To Oatman to Kingman and going as far as Seligman, AZ.

    1. Dewey- Did you make the drive through the Black Mountains from Oatman to Kingman when you drove it a few years back? I'm a bit nervous about driving through there with no guard rails. However, if I'm headed eastbound I believe I will be on the mountain side. If I was headed westbound, I would be "on the edge" so to speak. Eastbound seems a little less challenging and you have that "extra lane" between you and the edge. Just wondering if you, or if anyone on here has completed this part of Route66.

    2. Anyone traveled the road and have any suggestions/must see's from Oatman to Seligman?

Thanks for your suggestions/help. This trip has been almost a year in the making and we've added a lot to our itenerary through suggestions/casino deals that we've found on here.

I know I went out the back end of Oatman and drove to Kingman, but I don't remember the route. Sorry.
