Re: Claire Voyant - 9/30 column
Is Dressen a tad hard up for cash................
Tom Dreesen, who served as Frank Sinatra's opening act for more than a dozen years, has put together a piece of theater, sharing the experience. An Evening of Laughter and Memories of Sinatra, the Chicago-born comic's entertaining tales of touring with Old Blue Eyes, will be performed at the Rampart Hotel, October 14th, 15th and 16th. Show times are at 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 4 p.m. on Sunday. About the show, Dennis McCarthy, of the Los Angeles Daily News, wrote, "Only a guy who traveled with Sinatra for 14 years and stood in the wings watching him work his magic night after night to packed houses could pull off a show like this." "A good comedian can make you laugh for an hour and a half. A great comedian can make you laugh and cry in that same hour and a half. Be prepared to do just that..... Brilliant... Funny..... Poignant!," said Rick Kogan, The Chicago Tribune, and Larry Wilde, author of The Great Comedians said,"Excellent material, superb delivery, impeccable timing. Tom Dreesen is the quintessential comedian." Sounds good to us! Tickets are $15 in advance at the cage or $20 at the door. You have to pick up the advance tickets before the day, or night, of the show. Call the Rampart at (702) 507-5700 for more details.
