When the article states that Provincial Governments started the same in Canada, I can tell you it was met with a lot of negativity. I am sure that this will face the same type of behaviour. "Play Now" as it's called is massive money maker for the government. Like a license to print money...
I know that in BC, it has brought in millions and millions. Gaming and Lotteries in BC (British Columbia Lottery Corporation) BCLC mandates all casinos, lotteries and bingo in the province, brings in over a billion dollars a year (for a province that has just under 4.5 million people). It's HUGE!
Monies brought help pay for our heath care, roads, education and others (http://www.bclc.com/cm/benefitingbc/home.htm)
IGT making this purchase however, will not have these type of benefits for local communities, in my opinion...
