    Re: Renovation at Terribles

I guess you are right. I had it wrong. Makes sense too because I was talking about Terribles and they are in the same location.
Thanks. I thought it odd that he'd capture the thread that way. And we had quite a conversation as well. I'm disappointed because there won't be any 8/5 bonus down here in Florida. Thanks LV local.

Thanks for the help at Eastside Cannery. I know they are low on comps, but I'm thinking that they might generate some mailings and that is more important to me than the comps in dollars. So I don't mind seeding them to see what happens.

Dewey, I will be happy to check for those machines at the Eastside Cannery if I'm in the area. I haven't been to that casino in over a year, but I see that those machines were added about seven months ago according to the vpFREE2 comments: http://www.vpfree2.com/casino/eastside-cannery-hotel-casino/comments

Too bad they take $4 coin-in to earn one point and are excluded from multipliers.

Dewey, I will be very surprised if Steve was writing about the Hard Rock Tampa instead of the Hard Rock LV. Everything he wrote exactly describes the Hard Rock LV...the 25c 8/5 Bonus Poker in the new section, the Multi-Strike STP with 8/5 BP, near the airport.

Maybe Steve can let us know which Hard Rock he was writing about.

Great, Keno. I won't go that early if I go this spring and that will give me a heads up on the VP at Eastside Cannery. I had given that up for gone.

I plan on trying that in March. Thanks

Say, you seem pretty savy on VP in VEgas. Can you verify that the 10/7DB and the 100% JOB and the 10/6 DDB exist close to Marilyn's Lounge at the Eastside Cannery on Boulder. As you go from the old casino into the new casino and head towards the newer hotel, the first pit will be on your left side.

Across from that pit, on the right side as you walk towards the newer hotel lobby, is a bank of machines and the 8/5 quarter bonus poker is in all of those machines.

I believe that is the only bank in the casino that has it, but I am not 100% sure. I know I played it on my last trip there in October 2012 and also in October 2011.

The super times pay coupled with multi-strike is in a different area.

If you want to be a little more adventurous, they also have that same game, in super times pay coupled with multi-strike! That could be a wild ride, but the proper strategy is very complicated. You do, however, also have the option to only play it as a multi-strike game.

Also, I forgot to mention that with the room offers they send, there is no daily resort fee.
Where are they located, I checked a lot of machines and they all 7/5, I found 8/5 JOB? Or is it a recent upgrade? Thanks in advance.

Well, thanks for the tip on the machines. Give me something nearby that I can't miss seeing if you remember anything.
Have fun at Sam's Town. Nice win last time. Maybe you can double that one up.
Talk the Eastside Cannery into some coupons for the ACG. Everyone else up that way has something, even the Longhorn.
When they first opened, the Eastside Cannery had 10/7 DB in dimes. That was just my speed. Lots of fun on a low bankroll.
The only full pay left there are JOB coin droppers and they don't register for points so we can't expect any deals for playing them. And Sam's is right there with fine VP.
The buffet at Eastside Cannery is pretty basic and cheap and might bring in some of the folks who go from coupon to coupon. They should let that go on a 2 for 1 and they would draw in tourists to see a new place. They give a free one for 4 hours of 2/4 poker. That is rare anywhere. They are pretty generous with local offers.
Well, win some of Sam's Town money and enjoy the wolf.

I can't play Multistrike, which my friend Catherine says, is the crack cocaine of video poker. I like watching her play and having her explain how strategy changes as the game progesses, but I could never memorize that complicated strategy she uses. I'm lucky just to remember the plain strategy for Bonus. This winter I'm once again practicing my tutor to prepare for the Deuces Wild games at Sam's Town whenever I get to go to Vegas again. I've lost a lot of what I knew. Of course, I can look up hands. My buddy says a talk with his host suggests that Sams Town comps are triggered by 6 hours a day of play, even if the play is slow, so I don't mind taking time to look up the hard plays there. So far, I'm not getting much from them in comps and I've given them decent enough play, about the same play gets me two free nights twice a year at the Orleans, but all I get from Terribles can't beat the ACG coupon deal.
I know I am going to pay for rooms at Eastside Cannery on my next trip so I can do laundry and get free wifi. I'll play live poker there, but VP at Sam's Town. I like the 202 bus service going down Flamingo right from the Eastside Cannery. I have not used their pool yet. Sam's Town pool is cool with an early opening and good music. Terrible's pool is really delightful, a hidden off strip wonder.

Again, a good deal at Terribles would put me an easy bus ride to Sam's Town for their morning live poker tournament and some Deuces. So I'm tempted to stay there as well for a couple days at the beginning or at the end of a future trip just for the convenience of being close to the airport for a free shuttle to Terribles there and a free 108 ride back with no tip expected.

And I'm happy there is no resort fee at Tampa Hard Rock. Good for them.
I know where the 8/5 Bonus machines are located at the Hard Rock, but it took awhile to find them. There is a whole bank of them in the newer casino. They are all single-play.

On my trip to Vegas next week I will be staying at Sam's Town. They sent me an offer for a free three-night stay (including Friday and Saturday), plus a free entry into a $10,000 slot tournament.

I think I got the offer because I put a lot of play in on my last visit there in October and I hit two royals on a triple-play progressive machine, wining $2,735.00. I was dealt four to the royal and hit it on two separate lines. If I had been dealt the royal I would have won $15,000.

The offer was too good to pass up, because I can also get some business done while I am in Vegas. So I made arrangements to go at that time.

I have played the full-pay deuces, but I find the triple-play to be much more exciting, even though the pay table offers a lower return.

I don't much like walking down to that laundry and am more apt to do my laundry here but perhaps not from Terribles. I'll be covered this next trip as I want the Eastside Cannery in there somewhere.
    And they have free wifi
    Cora's Coin Laundromat
    1097 E Tropicana Avenue,
    at S Maryland Parkway,
    University District
    Area East of the Strip
    Transport Bus 109, 201.

From that spot it is just a ten minute walk to
    Pinball Hall of Fame
    1610 East Tropicana Avenue
    Las Vegas, NV 89119
It is a 5 minute walk to:
    Crown & Anchor British Pub
    1350 East Tropicana Avenue
    Las Vegas, NV 89119
a British Pub where $20 of VP play will get you a free lunch with beer. Nice Shepard's pie

Don't forget the ACG coupon can cut that buffet in half.
And there are more coupons here that will do that too.
    http://centralmediaserver.com/247M/vv-coupons.pdf

I never pay full price at Terribles. If you don't print them out before you go, those 24/7 mags are located in Terribles by the check in desk as well as other freebie magazines with deals and advertisements. Then too the Player's Club has had promotions associated with play. It is not like the old days, when every visit meant another new red cap, but the food still works.

Yes, Dewey you are correct the breakfast buffet is only 3.99 with card and that is still a value, it just that with the omelette station is was a quality bargain at 5.99 which would have been a raise in price. I used my points so quality was more important than the price. I switched to the cafe and use to go for their deuces wild special, but I missed the fruit. Sometimes at the buffet I would have chicken and waffles, their wings with the made to order waffle.
Their bonus was at 7/5, they use to have a triple play 9/5 job, but I could not find it last time. But like you say they have good rooms for the price, it is a strategic location and with the shuttle hard to beat. They have reduced their shuttle times, which can be a problem for me, as I use Allegiant and it gets me in at 10:30 pm when its on time, but it has frequent delays. Don't forget about the laundry on Harmon and Paradise, if your plans don't work out. Good luck, I am going in the 1st week in March and might go to Terribles for the 1st night since I still have enough points for 2 weekday nights.
