Re: The D and the Golden Gate adding $20 resort fee

$20 a night for a resort fee seems to be rather high for a downtown casino.

I would think $5 to $10 would be more in line with a downtown location.

They told me those folks who have already booked will not have to pay. Just new bookings. None of it makes any sense to me. I liked the D. Now I'll be looking elsewhere and I suppose find the same crap there.

Why not make the rooms free but have a $40 resort fee, that way you can be listed first on hotels.com, which seems to be their reasoning. I don't know how this will effect comp rooms, but I will be staying and playing at no fee hotels, while there are a few still left that are not trying to fool their customers with hidden charges.

Really puts a wrench in my future plans and I know you really enjoyed your stays at the D. The Four Queens has treated me well in regards to comps in relation to my play.

Good Point! Last year I booked rooms at Bally's for $15! yes $15! Now their resort fee is higher!

In trying to rationalize his $20 fee he's going to give us a $10 coupon for some show I won't be seeing, Free wifi for people who don't bring computers to Las Vegas, and free local phone calls when everybody has a phone in their pocket. Its simply greed. Hey Derek, are you going to charge us to look out the window at the freemont light show.
