Built pretty quickly in my point of view. I may never see it nor ride it since at my age I won't be travelling alone.

The dear hubby wants to ride it during our upcoming May trip but I am deathly afraid of heights and from one report I read it said the building appear to sink into the ground as you rise up (not sure that would make the waves of nausea worse or not). Seeing how the pods how 40 people I wouldn't want to flip out in a pod with 38 other people. Maybe I could tolerate it with the help of Mrs. Xanax so long as we don't have plans involving Mr. White Russians later. 7 weeks to decide.

I did manage to ride The Millennium Force a 310 foot Roller Coaster at Cedar Point but couldn't look left at the top of the ride (I had my eyes closed).

Re: World’s tallest observation wheel in Las Vegas welcomes first Passengers on March

I was in Vegas last week and stopped by the Linq area to check it all out.

They did a beautiful job with the walkway leading from Las Vegas Blvd back to the High Roller. There are a lot of nice restaurants and shops, plus a brand new O'Shea's Casino is there.

Below is info on the High Roller getting official recognition as the World’s Tallest Observation Wheel:

The Las Vegas High Roller is officially the World’s Tallest Observation Wheel after being recognized by Guinness World Records Adjudicator Michael Empric at a special reception honoring the team who designed and constructed the wheel on Thursday, April 17 in Las Vegas.

The record for the largest observation (Ferris) wheel is based on the total diameter of the wheel and the wheel must be a permanent structure. In order to receive the record, the High Roller project team had to submit information about the wheel’s design and construction as well as an independent surveyor’s report verifying the diameter of the wheel.

More than 300 guests including the High Roller project team, High Roller contractors and crew, local dignitaries, Caesars Entertainment executives, members of the media and special guests enjoyed the ceremony which included a special gallery exhibit depicting the construction of the High Roller by photographer Denise Truscello.
