Not sure if the question was for me or for Emelie.

I'll probably go back to Tunica sometime later this summer or fall for four nights. We'll probably spend two at Fitzgerald's and two at maybe Gold Strike or Horseshoe as we've been wanting to try them.

It'll be next winter (Jan/Feb/Mar) before we get back to Biloxi.

In a few weeks we're making a trip to Rising Star in southern Indiana.

As far as I know about Mississippi, It is a very charming state. The cost of living is very reasonable. The food is great! You won’t find better barbecue anywhere else. Mississippi offers a variety of small town festivals throughout the year. The casinos for the most part are nice and bring great entertainment. The small town restaurants are awesome. You will get that small town hospitality and meals made from secret family recipes.

Unfortunately, Mississippi is a little behind the times. While in general, MS welcomes outsiders, I have found that, some places have cliques, and they can be very hard on folks who are not southern. Mississippians do have issues with change. Gossip has no mercy either. Racism does exist between some of the whites and blacks. While it is no where near what it used to be, some of the folks on both sides don’t know how to give it up. The poverty level is also high. You will see some folks who live in houses that should have been torn down a long time ago.

The heat and the humidity mixed with mosquitoes is horrible. If you are an outdoors person, you can hang it up. You will get nasty and eaten up fast over the summer time. If you think going to the coast will help you escape the heat, think again. It is hot and humid all over the state. And the Gulf Coast water is just like hot bath water during the summer. The winter is ice cold and very windy. You have very little spring or fall.

If you live in the Delta, the work force is limited. If you are a farm hand though you are in luck. Otherwise, the majority of jobs belong to the Medical, Banking, Grocery and Restaurant industries. Anything outside of that is very limited.
