  • Prairies Edge Casino Resort: Not a place I would recommend

We were able to play the slots, but were unable to get a poker game or use any of the tables. There were plenty of tables that were not open, but the ones going were packed (we spent about an hour trying). We gave up and tried the bar, but after spending over 20 minutes standing at the bar (packed, with only ONE bartender), we were unable to get served.

We gave up and went back to our room, disappointed. The service was absolutely awful, the buffet reminded me of "school lunch"...absolutely tasteless-the prime rib was tough and without flavor, and, of course, they ran out. When we complained (politely, I swear-I worked in restaurant/bar management for 20 years-I'll tolerate nearly anything) to management about the service, they shrugged us off and handed us a complaint form to fill out. We never received so much as an insincere apology for the terrible service we encountered.

The hotel and hotel staff were nice as could be...a very nice place to stay, but though the casino facilities are very nice, it's definitely not a place I would ever consider returning to. With so many other casinos in the area that actually HAVE treated us well (Jackpot Junction, Royal River, Dakota Sioux, Dakota Magic, Grand Casino Hinckley), there's no reason to bother with Prairie's Edge again for us.
