  • Arizona Charlies - Boulder: I Like This Place

I'm staying there again this weekend. The rooms are what you might expect, plain and clean. Right now you can get a two bedroom suite (sort of) for the price of a regular room. $46 bucks for a two bedroom room/suite on a Saturday night!

The gambling is good with high payback Video Poker.

Table games are $5 and $10 with good rules, sometimes $3. BlackjJack pays 3-to-2, Craps is $5 line 10X odds and there's always a game going. I heard tell of $3 Craps, but I was there on a Saturday night and it was $5.

The bartenders are friendly and will pour you a good drink, free if you're playing of course.

The pool and jacuzzi are rarely crowded and close to the rooms, you can get a standard room right above the pool. Some yahoo put bubble bath in the jacuzzi so they actually drained it and cleaned and refilled it just for us!

You need a car if you stay there, there's no shuttle but the bus stop is right out front.

There's a 7-11 right next door for cheap snacks and beer.

The sourdough cafe restaurant has the well known breakfast and steak and eggs specials -cheap, but good.

There's entertainment on weekend evenings, usually a cover band playing R&B or Classic Rock.

Nowhere else I know of has nickel 9/6 VP, but the quarters hit well downstairs as well.

Check it out, from the Strip take any main street East to the Boulder Highway. I go over Flamingo Ave or Sahara. You can see it from Flamingo and the Boulder Highway, to your left.

It's close to a lot of other good locals casinos along the Boulder Highway as well.
