  • Smoking policy in east coast casinos?

I smoke & enjoy lighting up & playing slots. Please, non smokers don't jump on this & lecture me on the benifits of not smoking. I live in Md. & would like to know where I can smoke & gamble at casinos on the East Coast.

    Re: Smoking in Casinos

To the best of my knowledge, all the racinos on the east coast are smoke free. The Atlantic City casinos presently permit smoking, however, effective April 15, they must permit 75% of the casino playing area to be smoke free. That involves massive construction complete with enclosures and state of the art ventilation which obviously will cost millions. I will not be surprised if some of them will voluntarily go smoke free because eventually the New Jersey legislature will make it law.

I thank everyone for their response. Looks like I'll either head to AC before 4/15 or West Va. I'd still like some input on the new Casino's in Pa. if anyone can help.

Pocono Downs, Philly Park and Harrah's Chester all allow smoking, and, even though I'm a smoker, the ventilation systems in those places is not very good and the smoke bothers even me.

                      Re: Smoking in Casinos

It is inevitable, eventually smoking will be banned in all casinos in Atlantic City. In fact, I recently read in a local casino paper that Tropicano is giving considerable thought to voluntarily going smoke free. The deadline to convert 75% of the gaming floor smoke free is April 15. I will not be surprised if the New Jersey Legislature votes to ban it prior to April 15.
