  • Video Poker at Hollywood, FL Greyhound casino

Went to the opening today of Mardi Gras casino which was formerly known as Hollywood Greyhound Track here in south Florida.

Out of the more than 1,100 machines in the place, I only saw 11 video poker machines.

8 of the machines were 25 cent/50 cent/$1. One machine was $10, one was $25, and the other was a $10 3-play/5-play/10-play machine.

Good news is that the paytables were better than Gulfstream. Quarter JB was 8/5 and the $1 JB was 9/5. Gulfstream only had 7/5 for both.

Wow! Only 11 machines!!!!! Can they spare it?
The lines for those machines, will be out the door. Well, it looks like I won't be going there anytime soon, not with that amount of VP machines.
Thanks for posting, you saved me a trip.

      Steve,
Did you notice if these were Class 3 or the Class 2 Bingo type?

THE QUESTION IS....ARE THEY VLT'S OR RNG MACHINES?
NOT MUCH IS SAID ON THE DISCUSSION BOARD ABOUT VLT'S. IT IS CERTAIN THAT AT THE MONTICELLO, NY RACEWAY CASINO THEY ARE ALL VLT'S. COMMENTS PLEASE.

Re: Video Poker at Hollywood Greyhound

Well, we spent new years eve at the mardi gras. I had NO problem playing a vp machine. And the crowd was very, very large. Came out a few bucks ahead. Also played several other type of slots with NO waiting. All empoyees were polite. So i don't know where the idea of a problem playing vp comes from but don't believe it.

Also, there are NO bingo style machines at the para-mutuals. They are CLASS III. That's what we voted for.not the junk the indians have in their wanna bee so called casinos.

Re: Video Poker at Hollywood Greyhound-CORRECTION

Went back to Mardi Gras Casino and found out that I missed an entire room of machines with lots of video poker.

There were 28 VP machines, plus 9 more in the bartops.

There was also a bank of 10 3X,5X,10X, plus a bank of five Spin Poker and a bank of 5 Super Times Pay.

All of the games were multi-denominational: quarters, 50 cents or dollars.

I didn't see any signage for this room and it was easy to overlook. When you walk in the main entrance you have to go straight towards the back and turn left at the player's club booth.

I was at Mardi Gras casino yesterday. I played double double bonus poker. The payout was excellent. It was 9/7 for dollar play. The quarter and half dollar payout were 9/6.I was able to get 4 aces for $800.00.The 3/5/10 play machines payouts are awful 6/5. Gulfsteam casinos video poker payouts are bad, best I saw was 8/4.
