Arizona Casinos

Travel Zoo had a great deal to Phoenix this week so we're taking that and we'll make it a road trip. What are your favorite places to play in Arizona? Are there any places we should avoid? And thanks Clark for your Peppermill recommendation.

There is a Harrah's within 40 miles of the Phoenix Area and you usually can't go wrong at a Harrah's. They may not have the best VP schedules but everything else would be top-notch.

As far as the Pepperill in Reno, either you're gonna love it or hate it. I,particularly, cannot stand the funky/black light-neon lighting theme that they have......it's tough on my eyes. If you like lobster bisque, go to the little place in the middle of the walk tunnel that goes over the highway from the Atlantis. For 16 bucks you get a huge bowl full filled with plenty of big chunks of lobster meat, and a great view also. My favorite places to play are the Silver Legacy, the old Reno Hilton, and Circus Circus. Don't forget to check out the upstairs connector that runs through the Silver Legacy and El Dorado.....lots of restaurants,shops, and slot machines too.

The old Reno Hilton(downtown) has been gone for about 5 years. It became the Phoenix and is mnow being torn down.

Hi there...I'm new to all of this (I just started getting into casino slots recently), but I saw you're post and had to tell you that there's several casinos right outside the metro Phoenix area that are nice. No need to drive 40 miles out. But know that they are jam-packed on Friday and Saturday nights.

AZ Casinos- there were 16 of them at last count. If you want a nice drive into the mountains you can do the casinos in Scotsdale, then take the Bee-Line HWY 87 north to Fort McDowell casino, then Payson, Camp Verde, Prescott offer nice casinos.

Like Cliff Castle casino in Camp Verde most Arizona casinos are nice joints on their second or third reincarnation. Cliff Castle has a bowling center, outdoor events center, Kids Quest, buffet, showroom, casual dining and a dinnerhouse.

You can get comped coffee/soda but adult beverages will cost you in AZ.

Casino Arizona is off the 101 near Scottsdale.

Very nice place to eat, fabulous buffet, and a cool Showstoppers Impersonator Show.

I think all of the casinos in Arizona are Indian, even the Harrahs(Ak-Chin). The old Reno Hilton I was talking about is right off Rte. 395 and is now called the Grand Sierra.
