  • Casino Smoking in Atlantic City

The City Council of Atlantic City got cold feet or perhaps bribed by the AC casinos to turn down a total smoking ban in public places such as casinos. They originally were going to do so, however, at vote time there was some sort of nutty compromise by permitting closed areas for smokers to gamble. The casinos still don't get it about second hand smoke even though there is medical evidence about it.

Hey Luigi, fugetaboutit. You're gonna croak from something--maybe by some Gotti clan. Ain't nobody proved 2nd hand smoke is a killer, unless it was lab mice in a cigar box with cig. smoke blown in 24 hours a day. Give them smokers a break...do they intrude on things YOU LIKE TO DO ? Smoking is still a legal activity & near 30% of Americans smoke (Europeans & Orientals--% is higher). You've saved paying taxes since so many states TAX the heck out of smokers (and drinkers), not to mention the BILLIONS the states got from tobacco companies (yet states claim they're budgets can't be met).

Sit next to me and I won't blow smoke in your direction nor comment on your addictions or shortcomings. Sorry for the political diatribe, since smoking is not a REAL 'gambling' issue to discuss here. Light 'em, if you got 'em !!

Rick, You probaly have not been following the news about dealers suffering from second hand smoke. Maybe you should be briefed by the smokers that are suffering from all types of physical ailments. But of course, you are immune from such problems. Stay well, my friend.

Actually, I have not read any news about DEALERS (who probably smoke anyway). I've been diagnosed with Emphysema recently, so thanks for your concern. Haven't missed a day of work, nor been sick for near 10 years now. Have those 'sickly' smokers post here regarding what ails them. Remember, Vito/Guido, this is a GAMBLING info board, not an anti-smoking, political or religious affiliation board.

The 'medical evidence' is handpicked by those opposed to smoking. There are 4 times as many research reports that show no adverse health effects from SHS (other than an annoying odor).
