  • WinStar World Casino: Not too bad....

I have been going to Winstar since at least 2002, back when it was two sections and a buffet restaurant. I have never won more than $500 playing pretty much quarters. I usually take $200. I go mainly because I take my disabled mother who can't drive. She seems to do quite well there. She generally spends $600 to $1,000 each visit and usually plays $1 denoms. She usually comes home with half or more. She has won several $1,000 to $2,000 jackpots. many $500 to $1,000 jackpots. We go probably once a month. I love the massive expansion and the fact they now serve alcoholic drinks even if they are quite expensive. It's nice to play a slot and have a Makers Mark and Coke to sip on. The food is OK. The buffet is not really worth the $15 or so it costs. I like the new mongolian and english pub quick service places. It can get really busy on the weekends after 5 so parking can be rough. Since the major expansion there are more than enough slot machines. It hasn't always been that way. I'd say that you would probably want to stay with Vegas or Shreve-Bo if you are looking to win. However if you are looking for an entertaining night an hour or so from DFW then this might be a good place to try out. I have not been to Choctaw since the new casino opened but have heard it is nice too.
