  • Tri-State Racetrack & Gaming Center: HOTEL IS TERRIBLE

My husband and I decided to pay a visit to Tri-State to gamble for a few days since it had been quite some time since we last visited. This time we stayed at the new hotel because the couple traveling with us wanted to stay there as opposed to the Sleep Inn down the road. What a MISTAKE.....a sleepless night in a room that we paid $129 plus taxes for and we weren't sleepless due to gambling. It is unbelievable that the owners have built this hotel and now advertise themselves as a "RESORT" and they didn't bother to spend a little bit more money to build a "quality" hotel. Yes, it's pretty to the eye....but it's devastating to the body and mind when it comes to being able to get any rest (sleep). The WALLS ARE PAPER THIN....you can hear every word of conversation in the rooms next to you if you happen to have neighbors that have even the slightest of above average voices. You can hear the TVs in the rooms next to you, you hear everything that is going on out in the hallways (talking, doors closing, etc.)It was a HORRIBLE STAY AT THE HOTEL.....guests in the hallways shouting, cursing, slamming doors one after another. You would have just as much chance of being able to sleep in front of one of the slot machines as you have sleeping in this hotel. No, I don't go to a casino to sleep...however, after 12 hours of gambling we both needed some rest and it would have been nice to have a few hours of sleep without interruption but not at this place. It's a shame that the owners didn't think that insulation and thicker walls was a priority to ensure the "guests" comfort and pleasure in staying at the hotel. WE WILL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN.....the Sleep Inn or Comfort Inn down the road put this hotel to shame as far as "customer service" and caring about their customer's comfort and satisfaction. As for the casino.......just like always, the slots are TIGHT and after being there 2 days (1 night) I only saw one person being hand-paid a jackpot of $1,350. Never another bell, light or any other jackpot during this time.......certainly not like the old days when the place was packed, players were having fun and bells were ringing and jackpots were being won.....those days are long, long gone!!!! And so are we.......
