  • Grand opening of Meadowlands in PA?

I was sad to hear that the stardust was no more it was truly a icon in Vegas for years! I had the pleasure of playing and staying at the Stardust on several occasions. I still will say this we owe lefty Roesenthal a lot for bringing sports books to casinos!! By the way I won a lot of money on the craps Table at the stardust I hope I didn't break them Ha Ha

Yeah, I'll miss the Stardust too and others like the Westward Ho, Holiday Inn at the Boardwalk, and the San Remo. I like the older Vegas casinos better and it'll only be a matter of time before the Tropicana, the Riviera, the New Frontier, and The Sahara are gone also.

      Re: Stardust

We're spending several winter months out here this year. Gradually, the Stardust is disappearing.

First the windows all came out of the tower. Right now, if you're several blocks away, you can see through the building.

Then, they started at the Sport's Book in their demolishing. They just started knocking it down and carting it away. Right now, they are at about midpoint (somewhere around the hotel registration area).

I don't know whether they will implode only the high rise or whether they'll get the low rise at the same time. I can't imagine that they'll try to knock the low rise down as it's about 6 or 7 stories.

They've tentatively set the final implosion for 2:30 AM on the 12th (or maybe it's the night of the 12th - the 13th at 2:30 AM). Anyway, 'twill be no more.

      I, too, will miss it.

I was just out in Las Vegas and took some pictures of the Stardust without the windows. Check out a picture at
