Re: Tropicana Casino & Resort: Nice place to visit

I'll agree to what you said. We stayed at the Trop last April. They have a good selection of slots, video poker and table games. The tables are a little old. They only offer Pai Gow Poker, not the dragon or bonus versions. Resturaunts are pretty good, the breakfast buffet is excellent with an Omelette and waffle station (much better than Excalibur, which is in the same price range), and the Comedy Club is a BLAST!

My one big complaint (and the reason why I'll only visit, not stay) is the sub-standard rooms. They were clean, the beds comfortable, and the little balconey was nice. But the walls are SUPER thin (I could hear my buddy snoring one wall over), the TV selection is horrible and the showers are BAD.

3.5 out of 5 from me.

Tropicana Casino & Resort: Nice place to visit

The best part about visitng the Tropicana is to walk around their shopping mall: The Quarter. It has some nice shops that are affordable (unlike The Pier) and a good variety of restaurants.

I always like to play Double Joker Poker at the Trop because they are the only casino in the city to offer a full-pay versino for quarter players (but you must bet 10 quarters).

I have never stayed in the hotel, but according to other posts on this site the rooms are good.
