    Trip Report Day 2 Saturday
Downtown on a Budget, Oh the Humanity!

We finally got to sleep around 5 AM. I woke up at about 7, and waited for my beautiful wife to get up. I would have gone downstairs to gamble a bit, but I didn’t want to leave her in this Pavilion room alone, not that it would have been unsafe, but she was now somewhat apprehensive, after the 2AM incident of the drunk trying to get into what he thought was his room. Hell, I’ve done that before myself. She woke up around 9 and got ready to go out.
The sign on the door said don’t leave your valuables in the room. Ya think? So we loaded up our valuables in my shoulder bag and headed out.
How’s this going to work? We can’t leave our stuff in the room, so I guess we can’t gamble here, and leave our room unguarded? Or maybe we should leave our valuables in the trunk of the car?WTF?
So, off we go to the “Double Down Saloon”. Wifey had seen it on the travel channel, as well as Rachael Ray and Anthony Bourdain’s “No Reservations” show. For those who dare it’s on Paradise S.of the Hard Rock casino (rear entrance) in a strip mall, but it’s clearly marked.
Now, I’ve been in some dives before but this one takes the cake. The house drink specialty is “Ass Juice” and you can buy puke insurance, because as the sign says: ”You Puke, You Clean”.
Well, we had one drink and were outta there.
We weren’t hungry yet so we headed back to Ellis Island, which was not far from there, gambled a bit, and had a couple of beers. That is my favorite beer, and my wife LOVES their home brewed root beer, and they now have hard lemonade, which was excellent as well. We got on the 9/6 JOB and played for a couple of hours, and broke about even. Then she of course had to run some money through the Wheel of Fortune as well.
Now it’s off to the Fiesta Henderson, by way of the new Eastside Cannery. The line for the player’s club was a mile long, so forget it. It was nice though. Very new and clean, with decent games but nothing I’d get excited over. So I hit the freeway to the Fiesta Henderson for their Saturday crab leg and champagne brunch. It was very good. Jacques Bonet champagne was pretty good for a brunch, and our server wasn’t getting cheap on us either. I had a couple but my wife had 4 or 5 glasses. We sat and dined for a long time.
The crab legs were great. I’m not a big fan of shellfish but my wife loves it.
Well, we were already in Henderson so I went over to check out the Craps game at one of the local casinos, played for a bit, but couldn’t get on. The table was choppy at best, but I did get a chance to try out my new system, and I must say, it worked like a charm. 44 inside with a line bet and odds. My wife, who goes by Clementine after a few drinks, disappeared into casino land. I think she lost some money, but I’ll guarantee ya she didn’t care!
So, were off back to the room. She crashed out, so now I’m stuck here? No Way. So I went down to the desk, and they were kind enough to upgrade us to a very nice tower room. Now that’s some customer service! They sent a bellman, and gave us a certificate for a free stay in December, and some coupons for the slot tournament, as we were new sign ups. We did a room change, and were very happy at that point.
So, Do I need to tell ya what happen then?
We woke up about 1 AM, went down and started gambling. They had made us happy, so we felt committed and wanted to play there. I had a triple points coupon, and it was technically Sunday, so we started racking up the points like there was no tomorrow. Then we hit the bar,(8/5JOB)for a few drinks. We both hit four kings almost at the same time. We were up! We then played every game they had, as well as Wheel of Fortune, double diamond deluxe and dollar VP. Wifey hit two jackpots, for about $150 bucks. I finished up $30 bucks, after playing for hours and hours! I really can’t remember how late we were up, but it was late!
We racked up over 1800 points. Back to the room.

    Next: Day three Sunday
