  • Four Queens Downtown...

This will be our 1st time staying downtown, and we are staying at the 4 Queens. We paid $185 for 3 nights, so you really can't beat that. How good is the gaming - slots in particular - downtown versus the strip?

Slot machine payback percentages are slightly better in downtown than on the Strip.

The best returns, however, can be found at the locals casinos in the Boulder Strip and N. Las Vegas areas.

We stay at 4Q for a few days every year in January for a sibling reunion. Nice rooms that we enjoy. Have heard good things about Hugo's but have never tried it (scared away by the priciness).

They have good video poker. There is a bank of quarter DB 10/7 along the divider next to the coffee shop that is progressive and even when reset is in positive territory. Over by Keno, there are some multi denominational machines that have 9/6 JOB at the nickel level.

Several times members of the family have smiled when hitting the progressive.

Be sure and get cards and use them and when you check out go by the slot host desk which is next to the hotel registration and ask them about improving on the $185.

      But, mostly, have fun.

We always stay there, but check out their hot deal rates. We stay for $34 a night. We love downtown. Nightime has a festival atmosphere with bands, vendors, etc. Try the steak and lobster special at Tony Roma's across the street at the Freemont.
