MGM Grand Hotel/Casino Review: Hotel/Casino located towards the South end of the Las Vegas Strip.Parking/Transportation: Didn't use their parking garage as we didn't have a rental. The monorail is located right on property and takes you basically anywhere within 10 to 15 minute walking distance on the Strip.Gaming:Nice selection of slot machines. Like the older style games that they still have including the horse game, but not sure if it is still there since we've been there. The table games are located in a too congested area. Don't like playing table games here.Restaurants:N/A, didn't eat here...Rooms:We stayed in one of the Celebrity Spa Suite rooms and I have to give it a D- if I had to give the room a grade. We requested a non smoking room and they didn't have any. We are not smokers and anytime you came in the room your clothes and you started reeking of smoke that's how bad it was. They had no other rooms to move to the first night. They finally offered to move us the next night but we already had everything unpacked so we declined. I wrote a letter to their hotel manager and he was kind enough to offer us a free night in the future in the same type of room but we never used it because I don't want to get stuck in the same type of smoke filled room again.RedRock, MGM & Whoever Else Wants to Charge Resort Fees - We do NOT want to pay Resort fees! Do I have to say it again? I will avoid staying at any Red Rock and MGM resort hotels as long as you charge these Resort fees. Harrahs doesn't charge any Resort fees, guess I will be staying with them more often!Misc. (UPDATE) Since we have stayed there a couple of years ago, they have decided to get rid of the lion exhibit. This exhibit brought in a lot of foot traffic to the hotel. A bar will not bring in the same amount of foot traffic that these lions did, no matter how much they market it. Bad decision, very bad decision.
