On our most recent trip we stayed at South Point for 3 nights. This was our first stay there and it was very nice. I noticed in some other reviews, people praise South Point for being away from the strip. I think many people would consider that a drawback. In our case it makes no difference because we always have our car and we drive all around the valley, where we stay geographically is not an issue. But South Point is very far south on Las Vegas Blvd. If you want to go to Las Vegas and spend some time on the strip or downtown this may not be the place for you. If you want a place where you can stay and do everything right there, it's great. This is a relatively new property (200
and they have everything. Movie theatre, bowling, bingo, you name it. It's big, spacious, and has loads of restaurants. I might add that they have a Steak N' Shake! For those who don't know Steak N' Shake is a burger and shake place common in Illinois, Missouri, and places east. They have great burgers, shakes, etc., their slogan is "In Sight It Must Be Right" so you can always sit at the counter and watch them prepare the foods...and they serve everything on china. In the old days they had car hops so if you wanted you could park outside and they brought the food to you. Several employees of South Point told us that their Steak N' Shake was the "...only one west of the Mississippi!". I didn't have the heart to tell them they're a bit off. Steak N' Shake started in Normal, Illinois but there are many in St. Louis (west of the Mississippi) and in my hometown of Springfield, MO we have several (about 200 miles WEST of the Mississippi). There is also one in Joplin, MO (300 miles west of the Mississippi). For those who have never been to Steak N' Shake, please try it when at South Point. The South Point room was very large and nice, very clean, and they have all the facilities one could ever need. I would recommend South Point any time. Read the full Casino Review
