  • Deadwood Casinos

We are planning a trip out to Yellowstone (from Illinois) and plan to stop in Deadwood on the return trip. Does anyone have recommendations about casinos in Deadwood? Also, do you know if any casinos allow overnight RV parking in Deadwood? Also, has anyone visited the casino in Riverton, Wyoming? If so, is it worth the trip?

    Re: Deadwood casinos

Most of the casinos are hole in the wall joints, right next door to one another.

If you're looking for decent, cheap rooms the Gold Country Inn is good.......it's the last big motel on the left heading down the Deadwood 'strip' .

Diamond Lil's bar which is on the 2nd floor of Kevin Costner's Midnight Star casino is a good place for a burger and a beer. Don't pay extra for the glass though......they're easy enough to steal......heh !

We are going to be in Deadwood October 1 and 2.

We are staying at Cadallac Jacks for $59 with a players card.

We were there last September and a few of the casinos had banking games.

I will be checking them out this time to see if they are still there.

      Its a fun place.

        Re: Deadwood casinos

I was in Deadwood in late June this year and there are several banking machines there. The Mineral Palace had 2 penny green stamps, Miss Kitty's had a 25 cherry pie, a 25 cent diamond mine, and I think an old 5 cent wheel of fortune. The Celebrity had a 25 cent Kool Cat and a 25 cent diamond mine. There was another 25 cent cherry pie and a 25 cent diamond mine at another casino nearby. There was a 25 cent piggy bank and a 25 cent diamond mine at the #10 saloon(sawdust on the floor). There was a 25 cent piggy bank at the Bullock Hotel and there was a 1.00 diamond mine at the Iron Horse. That's what I remember.....there may be a couple of more banking games elsewhere.

Thanks Mike. Those are some of the ones I have seen also. Green stamps at Mineral Palace was not there last year.

Is that Monkey game there at the Mineral Palace?

                Re: Deadwood casinos

I didn't see any Golden Monkey machines in Deadwood, but there could be some by the time you get there twyman.....since it is a fairly new game. The Mineral Palace and the Franklin would be the best places to look at first, since those casinos have the newest games, and are all TITO.

Vegas, Laughlin, and Reno also, will almost assuredly have more Golden Monkeys when you get there, than when I was there.

PS: The Sac and Fox in NE Kansas, has 2 penny green stamps, 1 quarter diamond mine, 1 nickel instant bingo(a real winner) and 1 nickel Boom......all within 20 feet of one another. The Golden Eagle, 7 miles away, has 1 penny greenstamp, 2 nickel booms, and 4 old nickel wheel of fortunes........as of mid-July. Good luck.

                  Re: Deadwood casinos

Twyman, when are you going to Deadwood? We plan to be there the first week of October. We have been there before and thnk it is a fun, western town where you can get an inexpensive meal.

Check out some of the casino websites to see what specials they will be having on food. The last time we were there, the First Gold set out some free finger-foods in the evening.

Many of the casinos had free popcorn and 25 cent ice cream specials. The Tin Lizzie had a senior special (I think you had to be 50).
